So Long

I have been so bad at getting this updated, but I will try to be better during my third trimester.

Everything has been going really well. Baby looks great and is a very active little bugger. For those of you not in the know we opted not to find out what we are having. So it will be a surprise for us and you in just a few short weeks (11 but who is counting :)) I am starting to get a little uncomfortable but that is to be expected. My blood pressure has been higher than the doctors would like to see, nothing to worry too much about yet but something they want to keep an eye on.

We are starting to get the nursery put together. We got the crib and changing table this past weekend. It's really seeming a bit more real now that there is a crib in the room. It is amazing how much we still have to clean and get organized before the baby comes though. We are having all three of my baby showers here so that will be some great motivation to get things clean.

Well I promise that I will update again much sooner and hopefully get some pictures uploaded as well.

Almost 16 Weeks!

We had a very eventful week. It started with Mother's day. It was great to see all the family and we finished off the day by going fishing. Maggi caught a 21 inch walleye and Bob caught a nice crappie. It was a great day!

Things got really interesting on Monday. We had our monthly doctors appointment in the afternoon. The doctor asked all the normal questions then went to take some measurements and hear the heartbeat with her Doppler scanner. She tried for probably 5 minutes and could not find the heartbeat. At this point I was freaking out and Bob trying to stay calm. The doctor tells us not to worry and the rushes out of the room. Yea, like that helped. She got us in for a "viability scan" but we had to wait for 35 minutes for them to fit us in. Finally we get in the room for the ultrasound, there was baby doing just fine and moving so much the tech could barely get a heartbeat. That was perhaps the happiest sight I have ever seen. It was pretty amazing to see just how much baby had grown in the last 3 weeks, it looks so much more like a baby (less alien like). I will post some ultrasound pictures soon. I just haven't had a chance to scan them yet.

After Monday's adventure we buckled down an started packing. It's so exciting that we will be moving two weeks from Monday! We have a lot more work to do, but that's what weekends for right?

Well I will try to update again and posts some pictures this weekend.

14 weeks!

It is so hard to believe that we will be at 14 weeks tomorrow! I am definitely into my second trimester and the best part of it is that I am not tired all the time. I know that most women would say they were grateful that the morning sickness phase was over, but it be honest I never really had much morning sickness. Instead my biggest pain has been that the last few months I have been taking 2 hour naps everyday and wanting to go to bed at 9 o'clock. It's been nice to be able to go out with friends and enjoy our last few months of life before kids more that we had been able to.

We have our second doctors appointment tomorrow. I am really excited to get an actual due date. It's been so great sharing the news that we are expecting with everyone, but inevitably they ask when we are due and it's almost embarrassing that we don't have one yet. Oh well, tomorrow we will have one!

In other news if you are ever pregnant don't, I repeat don't watch P.S. I Love You. Far to sad! :)

I leave you with a picture of me almost looking pregnant.

The Big News!

Welcome Everybody! We are expecting our first child!

We are very excited and know this is going to be one of the greatest adventures of our lives. While we don't have an official due date yet we know it will be sometime in early November 2009. That means we are about 11 weeks pregnant. So for those of you who are wondering we don't know if it is a boy or girl yet and we have already decided not to find out until our little one makes their way into the world.

Last week we had our first ultrasound. As you can see by the pictures it's still too early to see much but it was so amazing to see our baby especially since we were able to see the heartbeat, unfortunately Bob was in Fargo with the Minnesota National Guard, so he missed this but we will make sure he is able to get to our next ultrasound. We had an ultrasound this early so that we could get an accurate due date. At my first OB appointment we were given a due date of December 6th, but they thought that I was a little larger than I should be given that due date. So on Monday I essentially skipped a whole month of pregnancy. I'm excited that I should be almost done with my first trimester, while I am treasuring being pregnant I will not miss being nauseous all the time.

I still don't have much of a bump but maybe next post I will put up a picture of my "bump", at this point it's more bloat, one of those less than exciting side effects of growing a baby.

We hope to update this blog a couple times per week to keep all of you who we don't see on a regular basis updated on the pregnancy and all the other exciting things that will be happening with us in the next few months.
